The Stamps have a date with a familiar foe on Saturday afternoon.

And some unfinished business.

Calgary takes on the BC Lions in the West Semi-Final Saturday 4:30 p.m. MST in Vancouver.

It’s a rematch of last season’s WSF that saw the Lions knock off the Stampeders 30-16.

Linebacker Cameron Judge says it’s a different season but that game is still in the back of their minds.

“It’s definitely new season, new deal,” he explained. “But, it’s in the minds of the guys that are coming back. They sent us home so we want to return the favour.”

The Stampeders dropped their first two games with the Lions this campaign before going to BC late in the season and taking it to them 41-16.

Judge says keeping it simple and to the game plan is the key to taking another win in Vancouver.

“We have to be focused and execute our assignments,” he said. “We can’t try to do too much, just be your one out of twelve out there and trust the guys around us.”

There are some new faces on the Stamps this year that didn’t experience the playoff loss last year and some that are experiencing the CFL playoffs for the first time. Judge wants those players to just play ball.

“They can’t let the moment get too big,” he said. “At the end of the day, it’s just another football game. Most of these guys have played their whole life so they just have to go out there and do what they have done their whole life and have fun.”

If the Stamps do advance to take on the Blue Bombers, Judge is probably going to have a big impact on the game. He finished the season with 89 tackles, two sacks, five interceptions and two forced fumbles.

“I think teams threw the ball at me a little more than usual,” he said with a laugh. “I was put in a lot of good positions by the coaching staff and I was able to execute.

“I didn’t feel like it was anything too out of the ordinary but the results happened that haven’t happened in past seasons.”
